The Pop Up in the Bluff event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Sixth Avenue and Main Street around the Main Street Plaza.


Parking will be held in the following locations: Simmons Bank parking lot as drivers enter on Fifth Avenue; the parking lot at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas and the Simmons parking lot on Sixth Avenue and Georgia Street.


Main Street from Sixth Avenue to Eighth Avenue and Sixth Avenue from Sixth to State Street will be closed during this event time, according to a news release.


Thirty six retail vendors and eight food trucks will be showcasing their products, services and Southern food at this event.


“The Pop Up will have a wonderful children’s area in the shaded area behind the Arts and Science Center, who will be helping with this event. A beer garden and dining tent will be placed on the Main Street Plaza along with free water, thanks to Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield,” according to the release.


Entertainment will be featured on the plaza stage with the opener being the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Drumline and Golden Girls; and to follow during the day, the Jenkins Memorial Choir; the Watson Chapel High School Ensemble Choir; a duet by local entertainers, Leah Randle and Isaac Pittillo; the White Hall High School Jazz Bank and the closer, the Port City Blues Society.


Inside the UAPB Business Incubator, in the Bistro area, will be the Pine Bluff Art League selling art. Jamie McAfee, award-winning chef of the Pine Buff Country Club, will be giving away food samples of farm to table food and participants will get a glimpse of the history of Blues in the Delta Region.


There will be a drawing of a James Hayes bowl given by Shepherd’s/Tipton Hurst to Pine Bluff Downtown Development. Visitors to the Pop Up in the Bluff event will have a chance to win the bowl with paper entries or through Facebook.
