Little Rock Christian scored on every full possession Friday night and on one of Watson Chapel’s as the Warriors cruised to a 49-7 victory in Little Rock.

Christian (4-0,1-0) opened conference play by scoring on their second play from scrimmage on a 31-yard pass from Akeem Gilmore to Chris Hightower. Isaiah Hankins added the first of his seven PAT’s and the offense for the Warriors began to click. Gilmore would find William Parker Kerfoot for 39 yards on the next drive to extend the lead to 14-0 after the first quarter.

Watson Chapel (2-2,0-1) would throw an interception on its next possession, and Corey Platt Jr. would add the first of his three scores on the night to extend the lead to 21-0. Gilmore would blast up the middle on a quarterback keeper of his own to give the Warriors a 28-0 lead at the half.

Little Rock Christian would own the second half as Platt added another tow-yard run on the first drive of the half. Platt would then scoop and score on a Wildcat fumble to give the Warriors a 42-0 lead after the third frame. Colin Cooper would replace Gilmore late in the game and would keep the ball for a nine-yard run to the end zone to give Christian a 49-0 lead late in the game.

With the clock running for the mercy rule, the Wildcats would get on the board late on a five-yard run by Ricky Farver,followed by an Abzu Nahshal extra-point.

The Wildcats’ Durran Cain led all rushers in the game with 79 yards. Gilmore finished the game 9 of 11 passing for 161 yards and three touchdowns for LRC.
