The Pine Bluff Police Department is currently investigating an incident that left one person dead and is being classified as a homicide which would be the 24th so far this year.
On Thursday, Oct. 3 around 7:45 a.m., a call came in stating a wrong doing had occurred by Daniel Jones that involved a woman. This started a search for the woman and her vehicle. Officers then found a vehicle returning to the woman on the Martha Mitchell Overpass.
While searching the area, officers located the body of a white female lying in a grassy area under the overpass.
Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley identified the victim as Angel Dawn Sebring, 40. Deputy Coroner Maggie Shell-Howsen pronounced Sebring dead at the scene and Kelley said the body will be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office at Little Rock to determine cause and manner of death.
Police say Daniel Jones is actively being searched for as the suspect in this incident. Jones is a balding 43 year old white male that is 6’3 and 245 lbs. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans.
Through the first nine months of 2018, 17 homicides had been reported in Pine Bluff. There were 19 for the year. In 2017, a total of 28 homicides were reported in the city.
