Pine Bluff Fire & Emergency Services Department will dedicate fire station No. 6 at 1805 Moreland St., in honor of retired Capt. Norris L.Williams. The event will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, and the public is invited to attend.

Williams, 77, joined the Pine Bluff Fire Department on Aug. 22, 1966. He retired as station captain for No. 6 on July 13, 1999, after nearly 33 years of service, according to a news release.

Williams has been working for the Arkansas Department of Correction since his retirement.

“During his off time, he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family,” according to the release. “He is the proud father to Andrea Harrell, Colin Lantrip and Derrel Lantrip and proud grandfather to 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.”
