The Dollarway Community Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, in the cafeteria of Robert Morehead Middle School, 2601 Fluker St.


The EAST program of Morehead school (in the Dollarway School District) will host the first ceremony, according to a new release.


The purpose of this event is to honor individuals who have had a positive impact on the district. This event is free and open to the public. Dinner will be provided by Jones BBQ Diner of Marianna.


Honorees include:


Tiffany Curenington – store manager Super 1 Foods Hazel Street; the Rev. Jesse Turner — executive director of Interested Citizens for Voter Registration and sponsor of Pen & Pencil Program; the Rev. Johnny Smith — pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church and sponsor of Gentlemen’s Club; Codney Washington — owner of Skate Land and Pen & Pencil sponsor;


Larry Allen — Retired youth coach of United Water Stars; Margaret Gatson — Retired Dollarway district teacher; Mildred Franco — executive director of The Generator, a Go Forward Pine Bluff project, and EAST board member;


Mansour Simpier — owner of Mansour Computer Solutions of White Hall; Sammie Thomas — owner of Thomas Groceries and an athletic sponsor; and the late Rev. Walter C. May — former pastor of Kings Highway Baptist Church.
