ANNIVERSARIES


• Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Grady will celebrate the 13th anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Freddie Heard Sr. and Alice Heard, at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Sylvester Kearney, pastor of Paradise Missionary Baptist Church at Grady, accompanied by his congregation.


• New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1026 Missouri St., will present the first anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Raeshawn D. Howard Sr. and Tess Howard, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. The featured speaker will be the Rev. G.L. Sanders, pastor Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church at Little Rock.


• St. Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 1201 S. Catalpa St., will host the ninth anniversary honoring the pastor and wife, the Rev. Darren and Ebone’ Edgerson, and family Sunday, Oct. 13. At 11 a.m., the featured speaker will be the Rev. R.C. Barnes, pastor of Ash Street Missionary Baptist Church at Dermott. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be the Rev. Glenn Barnes, pastor of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church.


• Canaan Christian Center, 7890 Middle Warren Road, will host the 17th anniversary honoring their leaders, the apostle, Craig Banks, and pastor, Sheryl Banks, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13.


• St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church, 5810 W. Malcomb St., will present its 160th anniversary/homecoming at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. The Rev. Johnny Smith, pastor of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, and his congregation will be guests.


• Daniel Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow will observe its anniversary at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Jessie Jackson Jr., pastor of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church at Meroney.


• Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church at Reed will celebrate its 119th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. The Rev. Timothy Ramey, pastor of St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Mitchellville, and his congregation will be special guests.


• New United Baptist Church, 5601 Cheatham Ave., will celebrate its 43rd anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. The Rev. Stanley Blair, pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Moscow, will be the guest speaker.


• Grace & Mercy Missionary Baptist Church, 5103 W. Malcomb Ave., will commemorate the sixth pastoral anniversary of the Rev. Joshua and Janelta Pickett at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. The featured speaker will be the Rev. C.L. Williams, pastor of Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.


• Eudora Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will observe its 144th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. The featured speaker will be the Rev. Isaac Barnes Sr., pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church at Gould.


CONCERTS


• Summit Baptist Church, 901 Ridgway Road, will host the Kinsmen Quartet in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. The Kinsmen consists of lead singer, Mark Little; baritone singer, Gary Newton; tenor singer, Bill Hankins; and bass singer, Gerald Williams.


• Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1801 S. Indiana St., will host the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Vesper Choir during worship service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13.


• Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Grant St., will host a musical honoring Elder and Mrs. Charles King at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. Guests will include Men In Christ, Soldiers 4 Christ, Mighty Gospelettes, and Spiritualettes.


• Polk Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Star City will observe the church’s annual choir day. The special guest will be the Rev. Omar Davis.


• First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, invites the community to its annual fall harvest fest/community health fair from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 12.Highlights will include health screenings, cancer awareness, flu shots, and information regarding salvation. Refreshments will be served.


MEN’S/WOMEN’S PROGRAMS


• Morris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will present its annual women’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Deborah Senter, pastor of New Cheeks Chapel AME and New Hope AME churches of Sherrill. The women’s day choir will rehearse at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.


• Solomon Hill Baptist Church, 8011 S. Olive St., will hold its men’s day program at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. Dinner will be served.


• Old St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 4512 S. Ohio St., will host its annual women’s day at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. The guest speaker will be Yolanda James, a minister at First Assembly of God.


REVIVALS


• Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church of Gould will conduct revival with the following speakers on these dates at 7 p.m. — Monday, Oct. 14, the Rev. Walter Witherspoon; Tuesday, Oct. 15, the Rev. Christopher Briggs; Wednesday, Oct. 16, the Rev. Omar Davis; and Thursday, the Rev. Brandon Dyer.

• Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, 812 E. Harding Ave., will host the annual mission program honoring its breast cancer survivors at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Louis E. Williams.


• Kings Highway Missionary Baptist Church, 2312 Fluker St., will host the dedication of its fellowship hall commemorating the late Rev. Walter C. May Sr., Sunday, Oct. 13, following the 10:45 a.m. worship service. The pastor, the Rev. Anthony J. Howard, will conduct the dedication.

• Greater Deliverance Global Ministry, 2215 E. Harding Ave., will host Creating a Sound, the ministry of Brenda Henton-Price, an apostle, at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13.
