The Jefferson County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) will host an opioid education program at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, in Suite A & B of the Donald W. Reynolds Building, 211 W. Third Ave.

Capt. Yohance Brunson of the Tri County Drug Task Force will conduct the program. The event will address opioids and the opioid epidemic in senior communities, according to a news release.

Also, RSVP encourages the public to also participate in the Drug Take Back Program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Super One Foods at 28th Avenue and Hazel Street. People are urged to bring unused prescriptions and other medication to be safely disposed.
