Glen Brown, Sr. has announced plans to seek a third term on the Pine Bluff City Council representing Ward 3 in the March 3rd primary.
Brown, a Democrat, had previously served 4 terms on the Jefferson County Quorum Court before being elected to the council for the first time.
He was defeated by current Council member Donald Hatchett in 2016 and finished third behind former Council member Bill Brumett and current Council member Ivan Whitfield in 2018.
“The experience and strong relationships that were built during my tenure in both capacities have put me in a much stronger position to tackle all legitimate concerns,” Brown said in a press release.
“During my time on the city council, the other alderman and I constantly passed ordinances and resolutions to make Pine Bluff a community that we could all be proud of”, Brown said in the release. “In addition, we worked tirelessly to make our commissions and department heads accountable, which in turn benefited the people of Pine Bluff.”
“The most important issues that we are all concerned about are taxes, fiscal responsibility, safety of our neighborhoods, and economic development,” Brown said. ” I plan to work hard to develop sustainable strategies and create mutually agreeable solutions.”
“It will be a great privilege for me to continue to serve my community and the residents of Ward 3,” he said. “I pledge to listen openly to the concerns of all our community members and be a strong advocate for workable solutions. I have a vision of building a city that thrives economically and maintains a feeling of “Quality of Life” in our neighborhoods.”
Brown, a proud UAPB graduate and said he has always been passionate about a better Pine Bluff. “I will stand for what is right and for what is in the best interest for all people. I have never wanted to be more than I already am in this city. I just want to show my fellow Pine Bluff and Jefferson County citizens that I truly care.”
“We live in a great city that I truly love!,” Brown said. “My plan is to work with the other aldermen to make Pine Bluff an even better place to live, work and grow!”
Brown is married to the former Clara Gardner. They have two sons, Alderman Glen Brown Jr. and Gavin Brown and two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Glen III “Trey”
