Maintenance work on state Highway 212 requires a temporary road closure just south of the Jefferson and Cleveland county line, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Closure is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, and end at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, according to a news release.

Weather permitting, crews will close Highway 212 between U.S. 79 just north of Rison and state Highway 35 at Staves to all through traffic; local traffic will still be allowed. Traffic will be controlled by traffic barrels and signage.

Traffic traveling along U.S. 35 will continue south to Rison and then take U.S. 79 north. Traffic traveling along U.S. 79 will continue south to Rison and then take state Highway 35 north to return to Staves.
