ANNIVERSARIES


• JERUSALEM #1 MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH at Altheimer will host its 144th homecoming church anniversary at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3. The guest speaker will be the Rev. James Rice Jr., pastor of Greater Battle Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer, accompanied by his congregation. Greater Battle Chapel choir will sing.


• POLK CHAPEL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH at Star City will observe its 104th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Royce Jackson Jr., pastor of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas. Polk Chapel will also ordain Jeremiah Robinson III and David Redix Sr. as deacons and install Harold Grigsby as a trustee.


• BETHLEHEM WORSHIP CENTER CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST at Dumas will celebrate its 151st anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3. The guest speaker will be Superintendent Henry Hellums Sr. of Truth and Love Church of God in Christ.


• UNION HOPEWELL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1121 Persimmon St., will celebrate its 149th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Leon Williams, pastor of True Vine “E” Missionary Baptist Church. Union Hopewell was built in 1870 and rebuilt in 1967 “and still standing strong,” a spokesman said.


• GRACE TEMPLE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 909 S. Wisconsin St., will celebrate its 115th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Steven King, pastor of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, accompanied by his congregation.


• NEW FAITH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 3800 Fir St., will commemorate the eighth pastoral anniversary of the Rev. S.E. Shaw and Cassandra Shaw at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3. Special guests will be the Rev. Louis E. Williams Jr., pastor of St. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, accompanied by his congregation.


• CHERRY HILL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH at Moscow will host the anniversary service of the Rev. Fred Wisemon, pastor of Richardson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Tamo. Service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Renice Davis, pastor of Bethany Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Guests will also include the Rev. Edward Demery, pastor of Almeta Baptist Church. Dinner will be served.


• NEW HOPE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH at Altheimer will celebrate its 129th anniversary at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3. The guest minister will be the Rev. Robert Key, pastor of Mulberry Grove Baptist Church at Altheimer. Guests will also include Princella Age of Smith Chapel Baptist Church. Dinner will be served.


• PRAYER GARDEN CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST, 800 S. Apple St., will celebrate the 26th anniversary of the pastor and wife, Superintendent Jerry and Diann Williams. At 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, the first lady will be honored and the featured speaker will be Monica Williams, a pastor from St. Louis, Mo. At 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, the guest speaker will be Superintendent Lawrence O’Neal, pastor of Holy Benton Temple Church of God in Christ at Stuttgart.

• GALILEE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 4807 W. Sixth Ave., will host the first night of the 34th anniversary of Barbara Bess of the Mighty Gospelletts at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2. Guests will include Devin and the Spiritually Driven, Heavenly Messengers of Humbolt, Tenn., and Hayes Singers. At 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, service will be held at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 S. Grant St. Groups will include Vision of Destiny of Dallas, Texas, Gospel Wonders of Brinkley and Sweet Melody.


MEN’S/WOMEN’S EVENTS


• WATKIN CHAPEL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 800 S. Juniper St., will observe its annual women’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3. The guest speaker will be Terra Dukes of First Assembly of God at North Little Rock. The guest choir director will be Donna Huskey of Old St. James Missionary Baptist Church.


• BRIGHT STAR MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH on U.S. 425 South will hold its men’s and women’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3. The guest speaker will be Debra Canagan of Old St. James Missionary Baptist Church.

• AMOS CHAPEL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1307 W. 16th Ave., will conduct revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, Nov. 4-6. The guest evangelist will be the Rev. Stanley Blair Sr., pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow.


• NEW JERUSALEM MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1317 Texas St., will conduct its fall revival at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, Nov. 5-7. The guest minister will be the Rev. Glenn Barnes, pastor of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church.


• RHEMA REDEMPTION INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES, 1201 W. Sixth Ave., will conclude its revival at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1. Guest speakers include Dorothy Highsmith, Marcus Allen, Shirley Sanders, an apostle, and Melvin Jackson, a prophet.
