The Villages of General Baptist Health Care Center West at Pine Bluff hosted a Think Pink Day Celebration recently.
The event was held in conjunction with the Villages East and the Gardens at Whispering Knolls Assisted Living, according to a news release.
Resident Mary Jackson led a song and participants held a walk/roll for the cure. Afterwards, the activity coordinator for the Villages West read a document about breast cancer and participants released balloons for those who are or have fought cancer, according to the release.
“The residents prepared posters and purchased pink attire for this event,” according to the release. “They were very excited about it. We love participating in various activities around the year and this one is a special one for them. We would like to thank our wonderful staff, neighboring facilities, and our volunteers for coming together to help us Fight for the Cure.”
“We had one resident from The Gardens that walked and she is 100 years of age and she did awesome,” the spokesman said of Marie Franklin.
Refreshments were served after the event.
