The Ivy Center for Education announced several upcoming programs.


Tuesday, Nov. 12 — from 6-7 p.m., the Ivy Center will partner with the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Cooperative Extension program to will present a Human Trafficking Workshop. The event will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church, 913 University Drive. The workshop presenter will be Angela Robey from Whole Nedz Inc.


Tuesday, Nov. 19 — from 6-7 p.m., the center will host the “Making Math and Science Fun Workshop!” at Faith Presbyterian. The presenter will be Charles Colen Jr., Ph.D, chairman of the UAPB Department of Industrial Technology, Management and Applied Engineering.


Tuesday, Dec. 3 — from 6-7 p.m., the Ivy Center will meet at Faith Presbyterian Church. Renisha Ward of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences will meet with Club Scrub/Future Medical Professionals. Future Engineers will meet with Sederick Rice, Ph.D., an associate professor of biology at UAPB.


Tuesday, Dec. 10 — from 4-6:30 p.m. ACT Prep/College Readiness Workshops will be held at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Center, 211 W. Third Ave. ACT workshop presenters are from the University of Arkansas Office of Diversity Affairs Outreach. College readiness presenters are from UAPB LIONS (Learning Institute and Opportunities for New Students) Program and UAPB Recruitment. Students in 7-12th grades may attend. They should bring paper/pencil and RSVP their attendance by email Friday, Dec. 6.
