• NEW TOWN MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 3600 W. Second Ave., will observe its 117th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Christopher Briggs, pastor of Newbirth Missionary Baptist Church.


• HAPPY HOME MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH at Jefferson will host its 131st anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Kevin Crumpton of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.


• NEW CHEEK CHAPEL AME CHURCH at Pastoria will host its 151st anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17. The featured speaker will be the Rev. Roy Thomas, pastor of Eudora Baptist Church at Altheimer.


CONCERTS


• FIRST MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH at Ladd will host the anniversary musical for the True Vessels at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17. Many groups will sing and words of encouragement will be by the church’s pastor, the Rev. Accie Reynolds.


MEN’S/WOMEN’S PROGRAMS


• ST. BETHEL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 4508 S. Main St., will observe its annual women’ day celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17. The speaker is Patricia L.Griffen, Ph. D., a clinical psychologist from New Millennium Church at Little Rock.


• MOTLEY CHAPEL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 794 St. Raphael Road, will present events Sunday, Nov. 17. The speaker for women’s day at 10:30 a.m. will be Cynthia Davis of the church. At 3 p.m., the men’s day speaker will be the Rev. Royce Jackson Jr., pastor of New Jerusalem Church at Dumas.


REVIVALS


• NEWBIRTH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 401 E. Fifth Ave., will host its fall revival at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Nov 18-19. The guest preacher will be the Rev. F. Bernard Mitchell, pastor of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Mendenhall, Miss.


• EAST END CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST, 709 Virginia St., will conduct revival at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, Nov. 20-22. The speaker will be Elder Arthur Sledge.
