Arkansas State offices — closed Wednesday, Jan. 1. Waste Management — closed Wednesday, Jan. 1. Pine Bluff Commercial — offices will close by 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, through Wednesday, Jan. 1. Area Agency on Aging of Southeast Arkansas — The agency’s main office, the Strachota Senior Center and SEAT (Southeast Arkansas Transportation) will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1. Applications for the 2020 Junior Leadership Pine Bluff class are available at the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce. The 77th Gillett Coon Supper and the Berry Pre-Coon Supper Reception will be held Saturday, Jan. 11, at Gillett. Superintendents to lead KingFest parade at Pine Bluff
Superintendents of three Pine Bluff school districts will serve as grand marshals for the 37th annual Original KingFest™ Parade/March at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, beginning at Third Avenue and Walnut Street. The event honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The grand marshals will be Superintendents Barbara Warren of Dollarway School District, Jerry Guess of Watson Chapel School District and Jeremy Owoh of Pine Bluff School District, according to a news release from Pine Bluff Interested Citizens for Voter Registration (PBICVR) Inc. The parade/marade line up time will be 1 p.m. at Third Avenue at Walnut Street, proceeding east on Third Avenue to Convention Center Drive to the Pine Bluff Convention Center.
