A North Little Rock woman was arrested on drug charges Dec. 28 after police stopped the car she was driving in an erratic manner.

Officer Jesse Valdez was in the area of Market Street and the Martha Mitchell Expressway at 1:03 a.m. when he saw a silver Chrysler 300 driven by Crystal Straub, 38, go onto the shoulder of the road. The vehicle would alternately speed up and slow down and Straub would turn the headlights on and off.

Valdez stopped the car at the Walnut Street exit on the Expressway and after determining Straub was intoxicated, placed her under arrest.

During an inventory of the vehicle before it was towed by a wrecker, police found a glass smoking pipe and two off-white rock-like substances in the back seat. The substances tested positive for crack cocaine. A white residue was found inside the pipe.

On Tuesday, Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $5,000 bond for Straub after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with possession of a controlled substance.
