Pine Bluff Area Community Foundation Youth Advisory Council Grants are available.


Applications should be submitted online at: arcf.org. Nonprofits in Pine Bluff and Jefferson County may apply for grants through Saturday, Feb. 15. The application session opened Jan. 10, according to a news release.


Any IRS 501 (c)3 public charity, public school, government agency or hospital in Pine Bluff and Jefferson County may apply. Applications will be reviewed by the Youth Advisory Council.


“Our grants are available to support youth programs that focus on recreation, education, crime prevention and community service,” Kaitlyn Peterson, YAC president, said.


Grants typically will range from $200 to $500, she said.


“The purpose of YAC is to develop young philanthropic leaders that address the needs of youth in our local community. YACS are primarily high school students who want to make a difference,” Peterson said. “Members learn about philanthropy and effective charitable giving. We research the needs of youth in our community, decide which youth-oriented organizations we need to support, and volunteer our time toward community work. Last year we awarded $1,500 in grants.”
