A Pine Bluff woman was arrested in the early morning hours Friday after police found a large quantity of suspected marijuana in the vehicle she was driving.
Nikki Hines, 28, was taken into custody after police stopped the vehicle she was driving at 39th Avenue and Main Street for having a fictitious license plate.
While conducting an inventory of the vehicle before it was released to a wrecker, police found a backpack filled with green vegetable matter and several multi-color pills in the vehicle’s trunk.
Vice and Narcotics Detective Jarrell Johnson reported that the suspected marijuana weighed a total of 135 grams and there were 16 pills that tested positive for Ecstasy. The suspected drugs will be sent to the State Crime Laboratory for analysis.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $25,000 bond for Hems after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver.
