The AARP Driver Safety Class will be offered from 9:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday Feb. 27, at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Center, 211 W. Third Ave.

The multimedia course will be taught by Phil McBee, a certified instructor. The course is for people 50 years and older. Each participant who finishes the driver’s course will receive a certificate that will enable drivers to receive a discount on their automobile insurance. The discount is valid for three years under Arkansas state law, according to a news release.

The cost of the course is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-AARP members. Checks should be payable to AARP. Participants should bring a valid driver’s license. AARP members should bring their current AARP cards.

Prices for the course are scheduled to increase by $5 on July 1, 2020. Any eligible persons who have not attended the course within the last three years should consider doing so now, according to a spokesman.
