The Revs. Lanette R. Frazier and Tonya Boyce will host “A Health Moment with Christ Conference” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Sixth Ave.
The event is free and open to the public and there will be guest speakers, free refreshments and door prizes, according to a news release.
The featured speakers and topics include:
• Nicole Bates, an advanced practice nurse and director of education at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Center on Aging; Topic: Mental Health and Anger Management;
• The Rev. Shalane Jenkins, pastor of Fountain Hill Circuit; Topic: Fitness;
• The Rev. Tonya Boyce, faith outreach representative and community educator for the Alzheimer’s Association Arkansas Chapter; Topic: Alzheimer’s and Dementia;
• The Rev. Joyce Campbell, pastor of Greater Ward Chapel AME Church, will be the closing speaker.
La Renee Ministries, founded by Frazier, and Eternal Grace Ministries, founded by Boyce, were both awarded mini-grants from the Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas for a “Healthy for You Program.” To implement the grants they are hosting this health conference, according to the news release.
