A $75,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man on drug and weapons charges.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Tommy Brooks, 61, with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and felon in possession of a firearm.

Brooks was arrested Wednesday when police vice and narcotics officers served a search warrant at 3011 S. Midland Drive. Four males, including Brooks were detained while the search was conducted.

Vice and Narcotics Detective Kevin Kirk reported that Jefferson County Sheriff’s Sgt. Courtney Kelly and his K-9 Soder assisted and Soder alerted on a desk and on a vehicle that was parked outside.

During the search, investigators found a bag containing a crystal-like substance in the toilet and a nine-millimeter handgun in a trash can in the bathroom. Brooks had been detained after officers saw him come out of the bathroom.

Two additional guns were found as was a set of digital scales,v229 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 118 assorted multi-colored pills.

The suspected drugs will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for analysis.

The other subjects detained were released pending further investigation.
