The Pine Bluff Branch of the NAACP cancelled its meeting over concerns of the coronavirus and will monitor the situation in making future plans, according to a news release.

”In order not to expose our members and friends to unnecessary health risks caused by the coronavirus, COVID-19, the Pine Bluff NAACP Branch has cancelled its monthly membership meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 9, 2020. Many of you have seen the constant updates with the words ‘flatten the curve’ involved. The main idea is that we need to see infections begin to flat line. Ultimately, the infections will start to go down, and we can start to pull out of this crisis,” according to the release.

After monitoring the issue, the NAACP will determine if future meetings should be cancelled or rescheduled. Details: Pine Bluff NAACP Branch President, Wanda V. Neal, 870-536-3141.
