Recycling Center closes


The Jefferson County Recycling Center is closed until April 27. The center plans to reopen at 8 a.m. that day, according to a spokesman.


Tarry church plans service on Zoom


Mt. Olive AME Church at Tarry will host an online Easter celebration in a Zoom meeting with the pastor, the Rev. Welton Boyce, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, April 12. St. John continues prayer conference calls


St. John AME Church at Pine Bluff invites the community to join them in a weekly conference call prayer for deliverance from the coronavirus crisis. The conference call will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, according to the pastor, Cecil L. Williams Jr. Participants must call in by 6:25 p.m. at 1-720-650-3030. Cedar Branch Cemetery group cancels event


The annual Memorial Day service for Cedar Branch Cemetery Association has been canceled due to concerns about the coronavirus situation. The service was planned for May 3 and the group hopes to have it rescheduled later. Donations for the cemetery fund can be mailed to Kenny Ashcraft, 12350 Princeton Pike, Whitehall, AR, 71602. “Thanks to everyone for helping to keep our cemetery maintained,” a spokesman said.
