The City of Pine Bluff Complete Count Committee Chair Mary Liddell is urging everyone to fill out their Census form as soon as possible.
“Hello Everyone — Census Day was April 1st, while that’s an important benchmark, it isn’t the deadline to complete the census. You still have time to get counted,” Liddell said in a news release.
For people who haven’t filled out the 2020 Census for their households yet, the Census Bureau is mailing paper forms that should be in mailboxes soon.
“Here’s why you should fill it out as soon as possible: Your education is shaped by the 2020 Census. An accurate count is essential to properly fund literacy programs, libraries, after school programs, health care, first responders, public programs —including food assistance and support for people out of work in your community. Additionally, an inaccurate census count could cut down the power of your vote and the number of congressional representatives from your state,” according to the release.
“Filling out the census is a key way to be proactive about building and protecting your community in the wake of coronavirus. Don’t wait to fill out your form — whether it’s by paper form, online, or on the phone — and get counted for your community,” according to the release.
To fill out the Census online, visit: http://www.My2020Census.gov or by phone: 844-330-2020.
The Census only happens every 10 years. Help ensure that the community is counted in critical decisions about resources. Details: Chair Mary Liddell at 870-643-2383.
