Arkansans can experience the Spirit of Travel virtually in The Natural State during National Travel and Tourism Week May 3-9.
“The spirit of travel… It’s a simple phrase, but it speaks volumes during our current times,” Travis Napper, Arkansas Tourism director, said in a news release.
“There’s no doubt that 2020 has been a year unlike any other in history. That’s why for National Travel and Tourism Week, May 3-9, The Natural State is embracing digital travel, rallying around this year’s theme of the ‘Spirit of Travel’.”
Arkansans can take a virtual tour of Arkansas at www.arkansas.com/virtualtours.
“Visiting new places can inspire, energize and refresh the human spirit. Not only that, travel contributes a significant economic impact for communities small and large all across The Natural State. When residents embrace the spirit of travel by supporting local businesses and helping their neighbors, they are also playing a key role in rebuilding their community and America,” Napper said.
The travel and tourism industry is integral to the nation’s recovery for the economy and jobs.
“It is the spirit of travel that will heal our country’s morale. I am proud to celebrate the spirit of Arkansas this week. From the mountains of the Ozarks and Ouachitas, to the rich cultural heritage of Arkansas’ Delta region, to our bountiful waterways, The Natural State has proven its moniker time and time again,” Napper said.
Arkansas Tourism, a division of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism, strives to expand the economic impact of travel and tourism in the state and enhance the quality of life for all Arkansans, according to the news release.
