TOPPS SETS DRIVE-THRU FOOD GIVEAWAY MAY 6


TOPPS, 1000 Townsend Park Drive, will give away 200 boxes of food in a drive-thru process at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 6. Participants must stay in their vehicles, according to a news release.


“Due to COVID-19, TOPPS Food Distribution will be a little different this month,” according to the release. “Although serving the community is our mission, being safe is of utmost importance. For this distribution, no one will be permitted to exit their vehicles. So we can serve as many families as possible, we will distribute one box per household/vehicle. Please be mindful that many are in need and we want to provide to as many families as possible.”

EOC OFFERING HELP WITH RENT, UTILITIES, GROCERIES


Financial assistance is available for rent, utilities and groceries through the Pine Bluff Jefferson County Economic Opportunities Commission/Central Delta Community Action Agency (PBJCEOC/CDCAA.)


Agency offices began opening May 1 by appointment in a five county service area. Guidelines will apply, according to a news release.


For people who have received an eviction or shut-off notice, need food assistance or for other details, they should call and make an appointment with a case worker at the following numbers:

LUPUS SPRINGERS 5K POSTPONED


The 25th annual Norma Lampert Memorial Lupus Springers 5K Race and Walk to End Lupus has been postponed. It was scheduled for Saturday, May 16, according to a news release from the Lupus Foundation of Arkansas Inc.


Due to the Covid 19 virus, organizers aren’t able to have a large crowd therefore, they are looking into having a virtual race/walk. Participants are asked to watch the website, www.lupus-arkansas.com and Facebook Page for the date.
