Updated Wednesday, May 6: According to Pine Bluff Police, 39-year-old Leashebia Davis, of Pine Bluff, has been booked into the Jefferson County jail for 1 st Degree Murder.

Update May 6:  From the Pine Bluff Police Dept. Wednesday afternoon:  39-year-old Leashebia Davis, of Pine Bluff, has been booked into the Jefferson County jail for 1st Degree Murder in connection with the shooting death of 38-year-old Elvis Kendal Monday night.

From a press statement released by the Pine Bluff Police Dept. on Monday night:
“On May 4, 2020 at about 6:00 p.m., Officers of the Pine Bluff Police Department responded to a shooting at 33rd & Hazel. Upon arrival, officers found 38 year old Elvis Kendal with apparent gunshot wounds inside of a vehicle. He was transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center where he later died of his injuries,” the statement said.
As of the Pine Bluff Commercial’s Tuesday morning press production time, the investigation was still ongoing, and there was no suspect information available. The circumstances leading to the homicide were also unknown at the time.
The statement Monday night concluded with:
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Detective Division at 870-730-2090 or Dispatch at 870-541-5300. Also, there is a reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any suspect or suspects. Information can also be shared via Facebook at the contact information listed below. This will be the 10th homicide for the city.
