The Area Agency on Aging of Southeast Arkansas Meals on Wheels program began serving hot meals again June 1 to registered people at their senior centers in eight counties. The centers are serving only grab and go meals. At Pine Bluff, the site is the Strachota Senior Center, 801 E. Eighth Ave., according to a news release.
Due to COVID-19, the centers will remain closed until further notice. Participants will be allowed to stop at senior centers between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for a hot grab and go meal.
“We want to thank each of you for your continuous support on the Meals on Wheels program during this pandemic,” a spokeswoman said.
Strachota Senior Center menu includes:
Monday, June 8 — Beef savory casserole, California vegetable blend, green peas, sugar cookie and milk.
Tuesday, June 9 — Baked chicken breast, chicken gravy, green beans, brussel sprouts, Texas bread, fresh fruit and milk.
Wednesday, June 10 — Beef chili with beans, yellow rice, whole kernel corn, saltine crackers, orange cake and milk.
Thursday, June 11 — Turkey breast with gravy, whipped potatoes, mixed vegetables, cornbread, lemon swirl pudding and milk.
Friday, June 12 — BBQ chicken, oven roasted potatoes, glazed carrots, hamburger bun, pineapple tidbits and milk.
