Arkansas Citizen’s First Congress will host “Understanding why Black Lives Matter,” over Zoom and Facebook Live from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 11.
The session will feature several panelists, including Kymara Seals, policy director for Arkansas Citizen’s First Congress; Ryan Davis, community activist; and Furonda Brasfield, civil rights lawyer/executive director of Arkansas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, according to a news release.
“What do we mean when we say, ‘Black Lives Matter?’ and why is it problematic to say, ‘All Lives Matter?’ Join us Thursday evening for a candid discussion on the significance of the #BlackLivesMatter movement, the meaning behind the phrase, and how to stand behind that meaning,” according to the release.
The conversation will be streamed online via Zoom and Facebook Live on the Citizen’s First Congress Facebook page.
