The Arkansas Bar Association honored a local juvenile judge and an area lawyer June 10 in a virtual presentation during the association’s annual conference, according to a news release.
Judge Earnest E. Brown Jr. received a Golden Gavel Award for his work on the steering committee of the Public Service Academy. Brown is a circuit judge at Pine Bluff serving the Judicial District: 11th West of Jefferson and Lincoln counties.
Kandice A. Bell of the Office of Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson received a Golden Gavel Award for her work as co-chair of the Disaster Preparedness Task Force. Bell is a lawyer from White Hall.
The Arkansas Bar Association is a voluntary organization of more than 5,300 members. The association’s primary mission is to support attorneys; advance the practice of law; advocate for the legal profession; foster professionalism, civility, and integrity; and protect the rule of law, according to the news release.
