The Pine Bluff Police Department is in the early stages on investigating a shooting that left one person dead Monday.

The Pine Bluff Police Department is in the early stages on investigating a shooting that left one person dead Monday.

Officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Union Avenue in reference to an armed disturbance. Once on scene, Officers were told the disturbance was not on Union Street, but in the area of 7300 Rosswood Colony. Officers arrived in the area of 7300 Rosswood Colony around 1:40p.m. and was told a male inside the residence had been shot.

The male was identified as 39-year-old Cedric Sloan. Sloan was transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center but was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

A 41-year-old man, identified as Kevin Kimble, was arrested and has been booked into the Jefferson County jail for 1st Degree Murder. The police investigation is ongoing.
