“The recent pandemic of COVID-19 has left many of us trying to adapt quickly and take care of others – our grandparents, parents, students and everyone in need,” a spokeswoman said in a news release. “In an effort to implement safest practices, like social distancing to prevent and stop the spreading of the disease, our Unified Christian Alliance Inc. decided to use social media to meet the needs of students in our community.”

“As a community we understand that for many students, scholarships are the main source for covering their educational expenses,” the spokeswoman said.

During the ceremony, Constance Castle from the UAPB Office of Recruitment spoke to the graduates about the university.

The president and founder of Unified Christian Alliance, Jennifer Lee, board member Dexter Lee and other members congratulated and encouraged the students. The board members also include Brittnei Austin, Joyce Butler, Steven Mays Jr., Chrishauna Roberts, Deborah Mixon Thomas, Carl Whimper, Betty Lagrone and Douglas Allen.

Unified Christian Alliance scholarships are easy to apply for, without the usual administrative cost requirements, according to the release. Donations for additional scholarships are also still being accepted.
