Pine Bluff police are investigating the apparent homicide of a 45-year-old man on Thursday, July 16. Omar Amos was the city’s 15th homicide victim, according to a news release.


Officers were dispatched to 1203 Nebraska St. around 6:10 p.m. July 16 in reference to a possible shooting. Once officers were on scene, they found Amos unresponsive inside the residence. Amos was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.


Amos’ cause of death has not been determined and there was no suspect information or motive at the time the news release was issued.
