Lynette Bloomberg, director of the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce, has left her position and will return to Southeast Arkansas College as professor of humanities and leadership.


The wife of SEARK President Steven Bloomberg, she will begin her new role Monday, Aug. 3. Her last day with the Chamber was Friday, July 31, according to a news release.


Lynette Bloomberg joined the Chamber in May 2019.


“During her tenure, the Chamber saw many upgrades to its programs and procedures, including the recent transition to a new membership management program that offers new benefits for Chamber members,” according to the release. “Although the COVID-19 pandemic has halted most Chamber activities since March, Bloomberg and the Chamber staff have been working behind the scenes to get ready to ‘hit the ground running’ as soon as it is safe to do so.”


Although staff is sad to lose her talents at the Chamber, they know her education background will be put to good use as she returns to SEARK as an instructor and also continues her own education, according to the release


“Education is my passion,” Bloomberg said of the tough decision to leave the Chamber’s community development efforts. “Even more so,” she said, “it’s a passion I share with my best friend and husband, Steven Bloomberg, SEARK’s president.”
