Lance Nutt of FBT Bank and Mortgage (FBT) has been named to the Arkansas Bankers Association’s (ABA) inaugural Emerging Leaders Section.

Nutt is executive vice president and director of lending operations at FBT, which has locations at Fordyce, Rison, Pine Bluff and White Hall, according to a news release.

Comprised of 14 young banking professionals throughout Arkansas, the Emerging Leaders section was established by the ABA Board of Directors to provide leadership and professional development to bankers across the state.

Nutt, a Fordyce native, joined FBT in 2018 and oversees loan and loan processing compliance. Previously, he served with the Arkansas State Bank Department as an examiner and evaluated banks’ compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, according to the release.

“Effective leadership is leading by example in that no job is too big or too small,” Nutt said. “My dad and grandfather both ran a business their entire adult lives and they both led by example. In addition, to leading by example an effective leader always needs to listen to those around them and to inspire others to think about ways we can be more efficient. I look forward to joining bankers from around the state in this series of trainings to better equip us in the roles of leadership and bank leadership.”

ABA will spotlight each banker in an ongoing series on its website at https://www.arkbankers.org.

“In the short time that Lance has been a part of the FBT family, he has shown tremendous leadership to our staff,” said Jim Hulse, FBT president and chief executive officer. “This is a great opportunity for further growth in the banking industry.”
