University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women’s guard Coriah Beck announced Monday she is entering the transfer portal.

Beck was UAPB’s second-leading scorer this season with 12.8 points per game, behind only guard Zaay Green. Beck and Green tied for the team lead in conference play, each scoring 13.4 points per game. She was named second team all-SWAC.

Beck announced her entrance into the portal with a post on her X, formerly Twitter, account Monday afternoon.

“This school has helped shape me into the basketball player I am now,” Beck’s post said, in part. “UAPB would forever hold a special place in my heart.”

After playing for Fayetteville High School, Beck began her collegiate career at Memphis before transferring to UAPB. She played two seasons at each school but still has a year of eligibility remaining since her freshman season at Memphis, the 2020-21 campaign, didn’t count against athletes’ eligibility because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Beck, the daughter of former University of Arkansas men’s player and national champion Corey Beck, scored 15 points with five rebounds in the Lady Lions’ historic 74-70 win at Arkansas on Dec. 10, 2023, in the same gym in which her father once played. Her 3-pointer with 7:11 remaining gave UAPB the lead for good.

She went on to score a career-high 32 points on Dec. 31 at McNeese State, aided by a school-record eight 3-pointers.

Beck’s last game as a Lady Lion was March 7 at Jackson State. She suffered an Achilles tendon injury near the end of that game which forced her to miss UAPB’s regular season finale as well as the SWAC tournament.
