LITTLE ROCK – A seminar in Monticello is among five statewide workshops scheduled to inform community and economic development leaders on procedures for applying for grants offered by five agencies.


Meeting dates and locations include:


• Nov. 21; Monticello Economic Development Commission, 211 W. Gaines St., Monticello; 10:30 a.m. to noon.


• Nov. 6; Newport Economic Development Commission at Newport; 10:30 a.m. to noon.


• Nov. 7; University of the Ozarks, Rogers Conference Center, Hanna Room at Clarksville; 10:30 a.m. to noon.


• Nov. 17; Arkansas Municipal League at North Little Rock; 10:30 a.m. to noon.


• Nov. 20; Southwest Arkansas Planning & Development District at Magnolia; 10:30 a.m. to noon.


"I want to encourage all of our local leaders with a stake in grants administration to attend one of these workshops," said Jean Noble, director of AEDC’s Grants Division. "These programs are vitally important in improving the lives of many of our state’s citizens."


Participating agencies include the grants division of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, the Arkansas Department of Rural Services, the Arkansas Natural Resource Commission, the Community Resource Group and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development.
