New Jericho Missionary Baptist Church, 1600 N. Lindell St., will celebrate the ninth anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Donzell and Ardelia Jones at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Freddie Heard pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Grady.


Almeta Missionary Baptist Church at Reedville will host the 15th pastoral anniversary of the Rev. Edward and Pamela Demery Sunday, Oct. 4. At 11 a.m., the speaker will be the Rev. Carl Gardener of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer. The 3 p.m. sermon will be by the Rev. Derrick Easter, pastor of New St. Hurricane Baptist Church at Pine Bluff.


Barnes Temple Church of God In Christ, 10301 Princeton Pike Road, will continue the 35th pastoral anniversary celebration of Elder Willie J. Brown and Cakneller Brown at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The speaker will be Harold Wade, pastor of New Seasons Worship Center at Little Rock.


St. Paul AME Church, 4143 Highway 190 East, will celebrate the second appreciation service for the pastor, the Rev. Shirley Inkton Bowers, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Lue Kathryn Montgomery of Quinn Chapel AME Church at Little Rock.


Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church, 121 W. Martin St., will celebrate the fourth pastoral anniversary of the Rev. Charlie Rogers Jr. and Gwendolyn Rogers at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Larry Rogers of Morning Star Baptist Church at Gould.


St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will hold the fourth pastoral appreciation service for the Rev. Ramon L. Hunter and Wanda Hunter at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Leon Williams Sr., pastor of True Vine "E" Missionary Baptist Church.


Indiana Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1114 Indiana St., will celebrate its 126th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Clark Thomas, pastor of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, along with his congregation.


Watkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 800 S. Juniper St., will celebrate the 25th pastoral anniversary of the Rev. Kenneth E. Jones Jr. and Debra A. Jones, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Donald Agee, pastor of New Morning Star Baptist Church.


New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 1317 Texas St., will observe its 115th anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The pastor, the Rev. Frank J. Harris Jr., will deliver the message.


Macedonia Baptist Church near Tarry will celebrate the 18th pastoral anniversary of the Rev. John W. Bush Sr. and Merle Bush, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Anthony Walker, pastor of Mulberry Grove Baptist Church at Pine Bluff.


The 140th anniversary of Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3006 Kentucky St., will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The Rev. Willie Laws, pastor of New Morning Star Baptist Church at Cornerstone, will be the guest preacher.


Grace & Mercy Baptist Church, 817 W. Sixth Ave., will commemorate the second anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Joshua and Janelta Pickett at at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Cedric Coleman, pastor of Spring Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Haynes.


Concerts/Musicals


Kings Highway Missionary Baptist Church, 2312 Fluker St., will host the adult inspirational choir concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The choir will begin the month-long celebration of the 22nd anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Walter C. May Sr. and Hilda May.


The Hayes Singers will celebrate their seventh anniversary at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, and Sunday, Oct. 4, at Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church at Tucker.


Family Time Baptist Church and Ministries, 501 Ohio St., will host the union night of the Pine Bluff Quartet Local at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. Guests will include the Mighty True Lights, Men in Christ, Union Choir, Rice Spirituals and Spiritualettes.


Old St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 1307 W. 16th Ave., will hold rehearsals for its women’s day choir at 6 p.m. Monday and Thursday, Oct. 5 and Oct. 8.


St. Paul Baptist Church at Tucker will sponsor a pre-anniversary musical at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. Gospel quartet groups will include the Sensational Soul Revivals, Men in Christ and New Herron Singers.


Men’s/Women’s events


Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 909 S. Wisconsin St., will celebrate its annual women’s day at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The guest speaker will be Yolanda Pitts of Turing Point Outreach Ministry.


Revivals


First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, will sponsor fall revival with these speakers at 7 p.m. on the following dates: Monday, Oct. 5, the Rev. Lee Whitiker of Solid Rock Baptist Church; Tuesday, Oct. 6, the Rev. Joseph Valliant of Morris Chapel Baptist Church; and Wednesday, Oct. 7, the Rev. Micheal Williams of Family Time Baptist Church and Ministries.


Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 4807 W. Sixth Ave., will host its annual fall revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, Oct. 5-9. The guest evangelist will be the Rev. Claude Arnick Sr., pastor of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church at Merriam, Kansas. Devotional topics and presenters will be — salvation, the Rev. Glen Barnes Sr., Monday; justification, the Rev. Robert Willis, Tuesday; santification, the Rev. Isaac Barnes, Wednesday; regeneration, the Rev. Theodis Shelton, Thursday; and purification, the Rev. Robert Anderson, Friday.


Kingdom Builders Outreach Church of God in Christ, 3105 S. Apple St., will hold revival with the following speakers at 6:30 p.m. on these dates: Sunday, Oct. 4, the Rev. Freddie Heard; Tuesday, Oct. 6, an evangelist, Gail Stith; Wednesday, Oct. 7, Elder Ervin Dennis; Thursday, Oct. 8, the Rev. Briston Bradley.


Meadowview Baptist Church near Sheridan will hold revival at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, and at 7 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, Oct. 4-7. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Jim Moss, founder of Love Worth Sharing Ministry.


Special events


Traveler’s Rest Missionary Baptist Church at Grady will host its annual fall festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, in recognition of cancer awareness month. There will be health checks, music, food vendors and clothes to be given away. The first 50 people will receive free hot dogs.


Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Faith will host its annual Thanksgiving and Christmas program for the needy at 3 pm. Sunday, Oct. 4. The program will include the Tater Family skit and a medley of songs by various choirs.


Spiritual Temple Church of God in Christ, 1001 S. Linden St., will host spiritual breakthrough services with guest preacher/prophet, Ivory Williams Jr., at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 7-9.


Word of Faith Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1108 S. Poplar St., will host a pre-Faith Holy Spirit Conference worship service at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, featuring the pastor and apostle, Patrick Lockett of New Community Church, as the guest speaker.


Word of Faith Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1108 S. Poplar St., will host the Faith Holy Spirit Conference at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 7-9. The pastor, Henry Land Jr., will give the lecture and the keynote speaker will be William J. Strong Sr., a bishop from Milwaukee, Wis.


Youth


Unity Christian Fellowship Church, 2712 S. Bay St., will host a Jesus and Youth event at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, sponsored by Full Circle 360. The Rev. Brandon York, associate minister of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest preacher. Full Circle 360 is a non-profit organization in Pine Bluff that provides employment opportunities for young people. This year, Full Circle has given jobs to 23 youth. This was made possible through the community’s support, said the Rev. Alexander Price, founder and president of the organization.
