First Missionary Baptist Church at Ladd will celebrate the third anniversary of its pastor, Rev. Accie Reynolds Jr., at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Lee Coleman, pastor of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church at Lonoke.


Paradise Missionary Baptist Church at Grady will celebrate its 118th anniversary Sunday. At 11 a.m., the speaker will be Rev. Sylvester Kearney, pastor of Paradise church. At 2 p.m., the sermon will be Rev. Johnny Williams of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at Grady.


Eighth Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 1200 W. Eighth Ave., will celebrate its 116th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. T.R. Ramey, pastor of St. John Missionary Baptist Church at Mitchellville.


Redeem Temple Church of God in Christ, 615 S. Cedar St., will celebrate the 12th pastoral anniversary of Elder Lugene Boyd at 7 p.m. Saturday with guest speaker Elder Lester Gatson of Main Street Church of God in Christ. At 3 p.m. Sunday, the guest speaker will be Elder Aaron Withers, pastor of Tabernacle of Faith Church of God in Christ.


New Town Missionary Baptist Church, 3600 W. Second Ave., will celebrate the 11th anniversary of its pastor, Rev. D. Graves, and family, Sunday. At 11 a.m., the speaker will be Rev. Eddie Parker, associate minister of New Town. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be Rev. James Thrower of Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church at Little Rock.


Union Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will hold its annual associate minister’s appreciation at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Billy Walker, pastor of Eudora Missionary Baptist Church at England.


Corinth Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will celebrate its 135th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Glenn Barnes, pastor of Pine Hill Baptist Church at Pine Bluff.


Jerusalem No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will sponsor its 139th anniversary at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Lafayette Woods Sr., pastor of Mt. Bayou Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer, along with ushers from his church.


Concerts/Musicals


Kings Highway Missionary Baptist Church, 2312 Fluker St., will host the Men in Black concert at 3 p.m. Sunday. The event is part of the 21st anniversary celebration of the pastor and wife, Rev. Walter C. May Sr. and Hilda May.


St. Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 1201 S. Catalpa St., will host the choir annual at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Carl Williams, pastor of Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, accompanied by his congregation.


Antioch Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will host the 63rd anniversary of the Pastoria Singing Union at 5 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Leroy Spears, pastor of Union Baptist Church at Pine Bluff.


Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church at Tillar will honor its music director, Delois Davis, at 6 p.m. Saturday. Guests will include soloist Rev. Reginal Rancifer.


Faith in Action Ministries, 316 S. Poplar St., will host the state musical of the I.U.M. Arkansas State Workers Conference, at 5 p.m. Saturday.


Cherry Hill Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow will celebrate its choir annual at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be Rev. William Jarmon of Evening Star Baptist Church at McGehee, along with the congregation.


Rev. Daryl Graydon and his congregation, First Baptist Church of Altheimer are sponsoring a benefit for John Graydon Jr. Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 909 S. Wisconsin St. Groups will include the Johnson family, Heavenly hearts, Faith of Harmony, Voices of Inspiration and special guests, the Holcomb Brothers.


The Southeast Arkansas Community Mass Choir will host a musical benefit for Johnny Brice and Wendy Robinson Harris at 7 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Altheimer.


Men’s Day/Women’s Day


New Community Church, 321 N. Birch St., will hold an event geared toward ministering to women’s issues at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1. The For Women Only workshop will be hosted by New Community’s first lady, Janice Lockett. National elect lady of women, Lawanda Middleton from New Haven, Conn., will be the workshop facilitator.


Prayer Garden Church of God in Christ, 800 S. Apple St., will observe annual Women’s Day starting at 10:30 a.m. Sunday and the speaker will be Eva McGee, a member of Prayer Garden. At 3 p.m., the speaker will be Prayer Garden’s first lady, Diann Williams.


New Direction Missionary Baptist Church, 3000 Louisiana St., will celebrate its annual men’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. LeArthur Shelton, pastor of Lampkin Chapel Baptist Church.


Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1800 W. Pullen St., will celebrate annual women’s day at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Lola Thrower, co-director of Christian Education for the Woman’s Auxiliary of the Regular Arkansas Baptist Convention Inc. She is also a member of Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church at Little Rock and a writer for an online Sunday Bible School Ministry.


Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Grant St., will celebrate its annual men’s day Sunday at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Renice Davis, pastor of Bethany Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, accompanied by his church’s choir.


Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas will hold its annual women’s and men’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Eddie Allen, pastor of St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church at McGehee.


Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will celebrate annual women’s day Sunday. At 11 a.m., the speaker will be Dora Price Brooks, a member of Mt. Zion. At 2:30p.m., the guest speaker will be Stacy Coleman Bohannon of Mulberry Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer.


Revivals


Union Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, 1121 S. Persimmon St., will sponsor its fall revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. The evangelist will be Rev. Clifton A. Conley Sr. of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church at Little Rock.


New Community Church, 321 N. Birch St., will host the Divine Fellowship of Christian Churches Revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. The guest speaker will be the pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church at Memphis, Christopher Davis.


Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church at Star City will sponsor its fall revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. The guest speaker will be Rev. R.C. Barnes, pastor of Ash Street Missionary Baptist Church at Dermott.


Special Events


New Hope CME Church, 901 E. 21st Ave., will hold the annual usher program and Annie McCray Harvest Tea at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Raeshawn Howard, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church at Dermott.


St. Peter Catholic Church will celebrate the first anniversary of its Saturday Soup Kitchen at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at the church’s gym, 15th Avenue and Alabama Street. Speakers include the pastor, Anil Thomas; kitchen director, Sandra Martin; Bishop Anthony Taylor of the Diocese of Little Rock; and Mayor Debe Hollingsworth.


Rev. Travis Harden, an associate minister of Greater Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff, will receive his Doctorate of Theology in Religious Studies from GMOR Theological Institute of America Midwest in Pine Bluff Saturday. Harden also received a Bachelor of Science degree in organizational management in 2010, a Master in Business Administration degree in 2012, and Master in Biblical Counseling degree in 2013.


New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1026 Missouri St., will have its ushers’ annual at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Charles Boyd, pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church.


New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 3000 S. Orange St., will hold its family and friends day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. T.J. Roberson of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church at Texarkana, Texas.


SONlite Ministries, 5103 W. Malcomb St., will sponsor its fourth Sunday family fellowship fun day Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. at the resource center/gym (across the street from the church.) There will be games, door prizes, refreshments and a food giveaway.


Mt. Pleasant AME Church, 1201 N. Magnolia St., will host its annual usher program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Shirley Bowers, pastor of St. Paul AME Church, along with her congregation.


Greater Battle Chapel Baptist Church at Altheimer will celebrate its annual usher board appreciation program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Roy Thomas, pastor of Eudora Baptist Church at Altheimer.


Youth


Greater Ward Chapel AME Church, 3700 W. Sixth Ave., will observe its annual youth day at Sunday starting at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Dean as the speaker. At 3 p.m., there will be a Gospel explosion.
