Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Ladd will celebrate the 31st pastoral anniversary of the Rev. Charles Helloms Jr. and Freddie Helloms, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Lloyd Holcomb Jr., pastor of Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church, accompanied by his congregation.


First Baptist Church Dew Drop has rescheduled the pastor’s wife’s fellowship for Jackie Breamsey to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 S. Grant St. All previously sold tickets will be honored.


Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 2507 Hill St., will celebrate the 16th annual appreciation for the pastor, the Rev. Kevin Crumpton, and family, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Gilbert Byrd, pastor of Allen Temple Missionary Baptist Church at Stuttgart.


Union Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, 1121 Persimmon St., will host the second anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. and Mrs. Antonio Gayden Sr., 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21. The guest speaker will be Clifton Conley, pastor of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church at Little Rock, along with his congregation. At 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, the brunch for Loretta Gayden, first lady, will feature guest speaker Renee Howard of Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church.


Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 2915 S. Main St., will celebrate the annual pastoral appreciation for the Rev. and Mrs. Lee Whitiker, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21. The guest speaker will be the pastor and apostle, Patrick Lockett of New Community Church.


First Trinity Church of God In Christ, 800 Catalpa St., will begin its 47th annual homecoming at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, with a back home hour emphasizing Black History. At 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, the official day will be held at the Trinity Annex, 2900 W. Sixth Ave., and the guest speaker will be Bishop Junius Earl Williams, prelate of the Arkansas Fourth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God In Christ. At 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, the youth department’s program will feature guest speaker, the Rev. Cenna Antone Smith, a pastor from Grand Prairie, Texas. At 3 p.m. Feb. 28, the homecoming musical guests will include Michelle Johnson, the Rev. Glenn Barnes and the Pine Hill Baptist Church Choir, the UAPB Yard Voices of Praise and Debra Canagan and the Spiritualettes.


Concerts


Southside Singing Center, 5420 W. 15th Ave., will have its singing program at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21. Guests will include the Sensational Soul Revivals, Shinning Stars, White Family, Mighty Gospelettes, Gloriettes, and Christland/Faith of Harmony.


SSM Spiritual Connection Music Ministry will host a concert at Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 3700 W. 13th Ave., at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20. Guests will include Betty Riley, the Sensational Soul Revival, Spiritualettes and Men In Christ.


South Pinewood Baptist Church, 8869 U.S. 79 South, will present The Maharreys of St. Stephen, Ala., in a night of praise and worship at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20.


De’Nes Production will present a Black History month musical at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, at New St. Hurricane Baptist Church, 3319 S. Ohio St. Artists will include Nora Celestine, Kenbria Robinson-Summons, Michael Jenkins, Michelle Johnson and Dedric Jones and Friends.


First Assembly of God in Star City will host a concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, featuring gospel recording artist Ivan Parker. The The Dove Award nominee’s songs include "The Midnight Cry" and "The Time of My Life." Parker has been voted favorite male vocalist 12 times and soloist of the year 13 times by the Singing News Fan Awards. The concert will also feature contemporary worship artist Josh Parker.


Men’s Day


Prayer Garden Church of God In Christ, 800 S. Apple St., will celebrate its annual men’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21. The minister will be Jason Williams of Prayer Garden Church.


First Pentecostal of Jesus Church, 1308 Holly St., will host a men’s conference. At 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, the speaker will be Chester Chatman, pastor of New Life Ministries. At 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, the speaker will be Elder David Jones, pastor of Kingdom Builders Outreach Church of God In Church. At 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, the speaker will be Daniel Lydell Collier, a prophet with Reconciled International ministry.


Special events


St. John AME Church, 1117 W. Pullen St., will host its 25th annual pew rally at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Samuel L. Green Sr., presiding bishop of the 12th Episcopal District of the AME Church.


First Presbyterian Church, 913 N. University Drive, will celebrate phase two of its Black History month with "Sermon in Poetry and Music" at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21. Students and officials from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will perform.


Grace & Mercy Missionary Baptist Church, 817 W. Sixth Ave., will celebrate its Black History program at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21. The featured speaker will be former chancellor Lawrence A. Davis Jr. of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The Webb Sisters will sing.


Barnett Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1321 N. Birch St., will observe its annual mission program at at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21. The featured speaker will be the Rev. Wylie Shelton, pastor of Motley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.


The youth department of Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2401 Port Road, will celebrate Black History at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21.


Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church, 121 W. Martin Place, will have a Black History program at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21. The guest speaker will be Alfred "Le’Otis" Rogers of Little Rock and a special presentation will be by Allen McKnight.


The city wide mission will met at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road.


Bethany Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1923 S. Olive St., will host the Elena Mays Scholarship Banquet at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20. The event is sponsored by the Regular St. Marion District Women’s Department and costs $15. Also, the district women’s auxiliary will meet at the church at noon Saturday and all officers and mission presidents are asked to attend.


Old Morning Star Baptist Church, 3116 Port Road, will host its annual Black History program at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21. The guest speaker will be Evangeline Parker, director of the Miss Teen Promise.


Auburn Missionary Baptist Church of Gould will host its Black History program at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21. The guest speaker will be Judge Berlin Joones of Pine Bluff.


Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Rison will host a Black History program at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21. The pastor, the Rev. Sammie Smith Jr., will speak.
