LITTLE ROCK — Jefferson County home sales and the average prices of homes sold dropped in September compared to the same month a year ago, the Arkansas Realtors Association said Friday.

LITTLE ROCK — Jefferson County home sales and the average prices of homes sold dropped in September compared to the same month a year ago, the Arkansas Realtors Association said Friday.


Thirty homes were sold in September 2014, while 40 homes sold in September 2013. The average price of the homes sold in September 2013 was $72,631. In September 2014, the figure was $119,972.


In Grant County, 14 homes sold in September 2014, while 12 sold in September 2013. The average prices of the homes sold were $123,171 in September 2014 and $112,008 September 2013.


Statewide, the number of homes sold in Arkansas increased by nearly 8 percent in September compared to a year earlier, and the average price of homes sold increased by about 1 percent.


The association said 2,525 homes sold in the 43-county area it surveyed in September, which was up 7.9 percent from the September 2013 total of 2,341. The average price of a home was $157,123, which was 1.3 percent above the September 2013 average of $155,126.


Pulaski County had the most homes sold in September with 406, followed by Benton County with 397, Washington County with 196, Saline County with 161 and Garland County with 133.


Average home prices were highest in September in Benton County at $198,441, followed by Garland County at $195,150, Pulaski County at $181,621, Saline County at $175,245 and Cleburne County at $175,050.
