The following are the results of food safety inspections conducted by the Jefferson County Health Unit:


• University Fish & Chicken, 120 N. University Drive. Date of inspection Sept. 25. OK to operate. Need sanitizer test strips.


• Twinkle Little Totz, 613 W. Eighth Ave. Date of inspection Sept. 25. No health permit posted. Need paper towels at hand-washing sink. Garbage cans need lids.


• C and D Childcare Center, 4806 W. Ninth Ave. Date of inspection Sept. 25. No current health permit posted. Sanitizer test strips.


• RJ’s Sports Bar, 128 S. Main St. Date of inspection Sept. 26. Critical violation #20 — Some cold holding temperatures out of safe range. Need thermometers in all coolers and freezers. Food out of original package in bulk bin needs to be labeled. Food should be stored at least 6 inches off the ground. Wiping cloths should be kept in a sanitized solution between uses. Plates should be stored face down to prevent contamination. Floors in kitchen need to be cleaned. Need more lighting in kitchen.

• The Spot, 111 W. Fifth Ave. Date of inspection Sept. 26. Sanitizer strength (chlorine in bucket of wiping cloths) - 100 ppm. Improper thawing methods used (corrected on site during inspection.) Need thermometer in freezer. Need sanitizer test strips to test sanitizer strength.


• Handy Mart, 6605 U.S. 79 South. Date of inspection Sept. 29. Ice bags should be labeled with store name, address and phone number. Must have a 3 compartment sink.


• Handy Mart, 6605 U.S. 79 South. Date of follow-up inspection Oct. 6. The three compartment sink has been installed and additional hand-washing sink. No frying in establishment. Must have a vent hood installed by a licensed person. Luther Dyer would need to be contacted.


• SE Ark Livestock Concession, Hestand Stadium. Date of inspection Sept. 29. No violations observed during time of inspection.


• DJ’s One Stop Inc., 8885 U.S. 79 South. Date of inspection Sept. 29. All deli meat must be date marked. Shouldn’t be kept no longer than 7 days after being cut. Need sanitizer test strips (chlorine test paper.)


• EZ Mart, 5600 Olive St. Date of inspection Sept. 30. Critical violation #14 — Can opener blade needs to be cleaned (corrected on site during inspection.) Need labels on containers that hold food out of its original package (corrected on site during inspection.) Food in boxes in walk-in cooler should be stored at least 6 inches off the floor (corrected on site during inspection.) Seal holding water in triple sink needs repaired. Need test strips to test sanitizer strength. More lighting needed under vent hood. All lights in kitchen area should be shielded.


• The Manhattan Group, 316 Thomas Road, White Hall. Date of inspection Sept. 30. No violations observed during time of inspection.


• Touch of Elegance Bakery, 3015 W. 28th Ave. Date of inspection Oct. 1. Food in cooler should stay covered (corrected on site during inspection.) Plates should stay face down or covered to prevent contamination (corrected on site during inspection.) Personal fans in kitchen area should be cleaned.


• Salvation Army, 501 E. 12th Ave. Date of inspection Oct. 2. Need to label all containers of food items.


• The G.Y.M. at Playroom Express, 817 S. Linden St. Date of inspection Oct. 2. No frying in establishment until vent hood is installed. Need sanitizer test strips.
