LITTLE ROCK — A second suspect was arrested Thursday in connection with the abduction and slaying of real estate agent Beverly Carter, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.

Crystal Lowery, 41, the wife of suspect Arron Lewis, was arrested on warrants for kidnapping and capital murder, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Carl Minden said.

As of Thursday afternoon, the warrant for Lowery’s arrest was under seal.

Lewis, 33, of Jacksonville is charged with kidnapping and capital murder in the death of Carter, 49, who disappeared Sept. 25 and whose body was found in a shallow grave at a concrete company in the Cabot area five days later. Authorities have said Carter was on her way to show a house to Lewis, whom she did not know, just before she disappeared.

Carter lived in Scott and worked at Crye-Leike Realtors of North Little Rock.
