Brenda Joyce (Lee) Surrell, 67, of Fort Smith passed away June 28, 2018. She was born Nov. 6, 1950, in Fort Smith. She was a graduate of Northside High School and retired from Whirlpool after 23 years. She was a member of New Covenant International Christian Center, where she served on the food ministry and as a greeter on the hospitality committee. She was also a member of Lincoln alumni class of 1969.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Mae Ella Lee; two sisters, Kathy (Lee) Brasfield and Elletrice (Lee) Fields; and one brother, Stanley "Bee" Lee.

She leaves to mourn several family members including her spouse, Mitch Surrell of the home; two sons, Darrell Lee of St. Louis and Lawrence "Skip" Toran of Fort Smith; one daughter, Charita Kursh of Fort Smith; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; five sisters, Phyllis Bell, Bessie Warren, Marilyn Reese, Donna Waterbury and Dorthea Cherry, all of Fort Smith; three brothers, Herbert Lee Jr. of Beaumont, Calif., and Bobby Lee and Jerry Lee, both of Fort Smith; three special sons, Ronald Towson of Baltimore, Tracy McClish and Ron Sloan of Fort Smith; one uncle; two aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Covenant Christian Center with interment to follow at Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Lewis-Roberts Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Lewis-Roberts Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers will be James Adams, Theodore Bishop, Kenneth Massey, Jerry Lee Jr., Don Toran and Paul Toran.
