Bobby Ray Green, 86, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 07, 2019, at Trinity Village Medical Center.
Mr. Green was born in Kilbourne, Louisiana, to the late Franklin Myles and Annie Mable Green. He was reared and received his education in Kilbourne, Louisiana, where he graduated from Kilbourne High School. After high school, he served 3 years in the United States Air Force. He then enlisted in the United States Army where he served 25 years and retired in 1973. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He also was awarded the Bronze Star for service above and beyond the call of duty.
Mr. Green worked for the Pine Bluff Arsenal as director of the medical lab and retired from there after 20 years.
He was a 30 year member of the Sahara Shrine Temple in Pine Bluff, where he had served as potentate. During his free time he enjoyed golfing.
Mr. Green is survived by his son, John (Sherrie) Green of San Antonio, Texas; his daughter, Trudie (Randy) Green Bolen of Star City; six grandchildren, Jason, Brandon, Jasmine, Chelsea, Georgia and Adam; seven great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Bettie Green of Pine Bluff; brother, Danny Green of Kilbourne, Louisiana; sister, Clovis Mabry of Eudora, Arkansas; and his beloved furbaby, Buddy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Ann Green, son, Mike Green and 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 10, 2019, 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Ralph of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials take the form of contributions to the Sahara Temple, 820 South Main Street, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, 71601.
