Charlie Neece

Charlie Max Neece, 66, of White Hall, died Tuesday, May 28, 2019 in Little Rock.

He was born January 4, 1953 in Pine Bluff, son of Allen and Maxine Watts Neece.

Mr. Neece was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia.

He was a machinist for the Cotton Belt and later Union Pacific Railroad for many years.

Mr. Neece was an avid hunter and fisherman who could build or fix anything.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two sons, Patrick Neece and Stephen Neece; two daughters, Kelly Ritchie of White Hall and Holly James; brother, George Neece; and seven grandchildren, A.J., Alex and Payton Neece, Dalton and Trenton James, and Bentley and Bella Ritchie.

Celebration services will be held at a later date.

Bunny Capel

John Bunyan “Bunny” Capel, age 79, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019.

Born October 24, 1939 at Pine Bluff, he was a son of the late Homer Bunyan “Doc” Capel and Addie Beth Benson Capel. He was a 1957 graduate of Pine Bluff High School.

Bunny worked as a florist for 25 years, first at Steffey’s and then in his own shop, Bunny, Inc. He later formed a partnership with his brother in the commercial building business, CapelConstruction.

He was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Mustachia “Jan” Capel, whom he married on August 26, 1978; two sons, Kip Capel (Jackie) and Scott Capel (Maggie); a daughter, Elisha Downing (Robby); a brother, Herkey Capel (Judy); seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Bunny’s service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at Fuller Hale-South Chapel with Brother David Leopard officiating. Visitation will follow the service.

Lois Ashcom

Lois Ashcom, 86 of Dallas, TX passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at her home. She was born May 4, 1933 in Rison to the late James Thomas and Eunice Belle Roberts Reed. She was of the Pentecostal faith; loved taking care of family; loved her church; and was a homemaker.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, Cartwright Ashcom; 3 brothers, John Reed, James Austin Reed and Tommy Reed; and 2 sisters, Louise Smith and Inez Merrill.

Survivors include a daughter, Sonji Ashcom of Arlington, TX; brother, Leon Reed of Rison; 2 sisters, Bertha Wasoff of Dallas, TX and Sarah Lockwood of Little Rock; and 3 grandchildren, Shane, Aaragon and Bailey.

Joyce Wilson

Joyce was born June 11, 1945 in West Monroe. LA to her late parents Milton Huskey and Mary Rhodes. She departed unexpectedly on Sunday, May 19, 2019 in Las Vegas, NV. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in transition by son Jonathan J.A. Wilson; two sisters, Florence Wright and Dorothy Huskey; five brothers, Robert, Tony, George, Greg and Johnny; granddaughter Jocelyn Dean of Pine Bluff, AR.

Joyce leaves to cherish her memories husband of 53 years, Samuel Wilson, Jr.; daughters Sheryl Goodwin and Saundra Kirklin; son Aaron D. Wilson, all of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Margaret Jackson (Kenneth) of Harvey, LA, and Sylvesta Cameron (Rev. James) of New Orleans, LA; three brothers, Michael Huskey (Rebecca) of Harvey, LA, William Huskey of Jackson, MS, and Gerald Huskey (Leann) of Gulfport, MS; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation/Family Hour will be held in the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, on Friday, May 31, 2019, from 7:30-8:30pm.

Homegoing Celebration will be held at Mt. Calvary MBC, 600 E. 38th Ave., Pine Bluff, AR 71601, Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 10:30am with Rev. Anthony Walker delivering the Eulogy.

Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, by Brown Funeral Home immediately following the Homegoing Ceremony.

Mr. Gene Autry James Jr., 41, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed May 25, 2019. He was born January 29, 1978 to Betty A. James and the late Gene Autry James Sr. in Chicago, Illinois.

His funeral will be Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.a. at Family Time Church with Rev. Michael Williams/officiating. Burial will follow at Altheimer Cemetery.
