Patsy Jean Knowles Taliaferro, age 87, of Pine Bluff passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019. She was born October 19, 1931 in New Edinburg, Arkansas to the late Cade Carter and Aletha Inez Knowles. She was a faithful member of White Hall United Pentecostal Church.
She was the longtime owner of her own beauty shop in Pine Bluff, Venus Hairstyling. She loved spending time with and talking about her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her church. She also loved her pets, trees and playing dominos. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Knowles and Cade Knowles.
She is survived by her sons, Edward M. Taliaferro and his wife Karen (KG) of Bothell, WA; Sandy T. Taliaferro and wife Rosemary of Hot Springs; Zackery E. Taliaferro and wife Kelly of Pine Bluff; Hampton E. Taliaferro and his wife Brittany of Ann Arbor, MI; siblings, Anna Sue Simmons and her husband Bobby of Nashville, TN; Louis Knowles of Rison; Jackie Knowles and his wife Jane of Dumas; Billy Knowles and his wife Martha of Rison; grandchildren, Megan Marino, Zack Taliaferro, Alex Cleveland, Nickolas Taliaferro, Miles Taliaferro, Anna Taliaferro, Bonham Taliaferro, Jade Taliaferro, Selah Inez Wardle, Ayleigh Taliaferro and Cade Taliaferro, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be the grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2019, at Buie Funeral Home in Rison with Brother Chris Dixon officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Loriene Marie Kelley, 89, of Cabot, passed away June 15, 2019. She was born November 13, 1929, to the late John Lee and Thelma Elizabeth Morden. Marie retired from the National Bank of Commerce in Pine Bluff, where she was a bank teller.
She volunteered as a Brownie leader and a Boy Scout den mother, and she was a past president of the DuBocage Chapter of ABWA. She was actively involved in church activities all of her life, and in her retirement she enjoyed playing golf, visiting her children, knitting caps for newborn babies, and spending time with her sisters.
Marie is survived by her children, Cindi (Jim) Maynard, Mike Kelley, and Carl (Karen) Kelley; her brother, Billy Morden, and two sisters, Mabel Clay and Juanita Austin; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jessie “Bill” Kelley.
Memorial service will be 11:00 Friday, June 21, 2019, at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Cabot. Visitation will be held one hour before the service, beginning at 10:00 am at the church. A private interment will be at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.

Peggy Ann Hedden, age 69, of Redfield went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 19, 2019. She was born March 31, 1950 in Warren, Arkansas to George and Marlene Boone. She was a faithful member of Cherrywood Assembly of God in Redfield were she served as a Sunday School teacher.
She retired from NCTR after 28 years. She enjoyed working in her yard and most of all spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her mother Marlene Boone and one granddaughter, Chelsea Dodson.
She is survived by her loving husband on 23 years Darrell Hedden, her children, Tabitha Shinn and her husband Mike, Chance Dodson and his wife Ally, Tracie McBurnett and her husband Jeff, her father George Boone and his wife Veda, two brothers, Ricky Boone and his wife Betty, Terry Boone and his wife Donna, grandchildren, Ashlie Wafford, Gracie McBurnett, Noah and Tripp Dodson, great-grandchildren, Brayden Wafford, Drake Wafford, and numerous nieces, nephews and family and friends who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 at Cherrywood Assembly of God in Redfield.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Cherrywood Assembly of God in Redfield with Rev. Glen Flemmons and Darrell Hedden officiating. Interment will follow in Hedden Chapel Cemetery.

Emily Evelyn Elkins Harper, age 94, of the Hardin community died Sunday, June 16, 2019. She was born December 6, 1924, in Jefferson County, to Lee and Mattie Ann Bain Elkins. She was reared and educated at White Hall and Hardin schools, graduating from Hardin High School.
Evelyn was a member of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church and the Adult Bible Sunday School Class. She was a homemaker and worked at the Harper’s American Service Station, which she and her husband, Hughey, owned until retirement.
Evelyn was preceded in death on October 26, 2011 by her husband, Hughey, whom she married on October 1, 1950; her parents; one brother, Edward Elkins; three sisters, Ida Elkins McCarley Eckl, Alma Elkins Grumbles, and Mattie Elizabeth Elkins McCarley.
Evelyn is survived by some wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 21, 2019 at the Hardin Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Thornton officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Honorary pallbearers will be “Butch” Carlton Rhodes, Bruce McConnell, Dennis Corley, Benjamin Little, Mike Harper, Thomas Wilson, and Buddy Dyke.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church or the Hardin Cemetery or donor’s favorite charity.
