Martha Jolene Francis Smith, 80, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away June 16 in her home and surrounded by family. She was born October 2, 1938, in Carruthersville, Missouri, to Henry Charles Francis and Gertrude Vera Evans Francis Flatford. She attended the Pine Bluff School District. She worked many years as a beautician and as a nurse at JRMC. She was as accomplished oil painter and quilter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Charles Francis; and sister, Carolyn Grace Francis Elkins Huntley.

Martha is survived by her husband, Larry Thomas Smith; her sons, Dennis smith (Michelle); Lee Smith; daughter; Susan Smith (Bonnie); three grandchildren; Joshua Smith (Sheri), Adrienne SmithRushing (Tim), Hannah Smith; and five great grandchildren.

She was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church. A visitation, in her honor, will be held Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Fuller Hale South Funeral Home, from 5p.m.-7p.m., 1621 S. Cherry Street, Pine Bluff, AR. Online condolences:

Loriene Kelley

Loriene Marie Kelley, 89, of Cabot, passed away June 15, 2019. She was born November 13, 1929, to the late John Lee and Thelma Elizabeth Morden.

Marie retired from the National Bank of Commerce in Pine Bluff, where she was a bank teller.

She volunteered as a Brownie leader and a Boy Scout den mother, and she was a past president of the DuBocage Chapter of ABWA. She was actively involved in church activities all of her life, and in her retirement she enjoyed playing golf, visiting her children, knitting caps for newborn babies, and spending time with her sisters.

Marie is survived by her children, Cindi (Jim) Maynard, Mike Kelley, and Carl (Karen) Kelley; her brother, Billy Morden, and two sisters, Mabel Clay and Juanita Austin; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jessie “Bill” Kelley.

Memorial service will be 11:00 Friday, June 21, 2019, at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Cabot. Visitation will be held one hour before the service, beginning at 10:00 am at the church. A private interment will be at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
