Opie Wyatt Tucker, age 97, of Pine Bluff, went to be with the Lord and her loved ones on Thursday, August 15, 2019.

Born August 31, 1921 at Pine Bluff, she was a daughter of the late Clarence W. Wyatt and Amber Spharler Wyatt. She was a 1940 graduate of Pine Bluff High School and attended Draughan’s School of Business.

She was a faithful, longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and shared His love with others daily as she came in contact with them.

Mrs. Tucker was a devoted wife and mother and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Charles Clifford Tucker; and her only child, Charles Tucker.

Survivors include her devoted friend, Beth Perry of Russellville.

Graveside services will be Monday, August 19, 2019, 10:00 in Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. David Moore officiating. Arrangements are by Ralph Robinson & Son.

Virginia Reynolds

Virginia Reynolds, 87, of Bartlett, Tennessee, formerly of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died Thursday, August 15, 2019 in Tennessee.

Born Mary Virginia Reynolds February 6, 1932 in Pine Bluff, she was the daughter of Elmo Reynolds, Sr. and Georgia Ruth Hawkins Reynolds.

Ms. Reynolds was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1950. After high school she worked for Arkansas Express Company and Arthur Heagler – Civil Engineer before continuing her education. She earned her B.S.E. from Arkansas State Teacher’s College (now UCA) in 1957. She earned graduate degrees from Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

She was a public-school teacher in Hughes, Arkansas before teaching in various elementary schools in the Pine Bluff School District for 29 years, retiring in 1990.

Ms. Reynolds attended various United Methodist churches in Pine Bluff over the years before moving to Tennessee, where she attended Covenant United Methodist Church in Cordova, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James B. Reynolds; and sister, Ruth Reynolds Swanson.

Survivors include her brother, Elmo Reynolds, Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Ralph Robinson and Son with Marty Shell officiating. Interment will be private.

Rosia Purley

Mrs. Rosia Hayes-Purley, 72, of Pine Bluff, Ark., passed away August 13, 2019. She was born to the late Arthur and Rosie Hayes on April 5, 1947 in Dumas, Ark.

Rosia was a Registered Nurse graduating from Jefferson School Nursing and later receiving her BSN from UALR. She worked as a Nurse for 44 years and retired in 2016.

Her visitation is scheduled for Monday August 19, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Perry Funeral Home Chapel.

Her funeral will be Tuesday August 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Boyd/ officiating. Burial will follow funeral at Graceland Cemetery.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three sons; Wester (Wes) Purley, Jr., Samuel B. Purley, and Tracy L. Purley, two sisters; Buler Allen, and Barbara Glover, brother-in-law, Arthur Lucas, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Service by Perry Funeral Home.

Rhonda Hankins

Rhonda Burks Hankins, age 53 of Monticello, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at her home. She was born November 29, 1965 in Pine Bluff, AR to the late Hershel Burks and Peggy Gibbs Bumpass of Monticello.

She was retired from Family Dollar and was of the Baptist faith. She was deeply loved by many and dearly loved her children, grandchildren and family. Rhonda was all about her family. Rhonda’s hobbies included rock hunting, the beach, playing games on her phone and taking Savannah for ice cream. She loved people and she never met a stranger. Other than her father, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Phillip Burks.

Survivors include five sons, Vince Sellers of WI; two sets of twin sons, Lowell Ladd and Roy Ladd and wife Deitra of Batesville; Asa Hankins and Zachary Hankins of Pine Bluff; two daughters, Hannah Palmer and husband Dewayne of Hot Springs and Savannah Hankins of Monticello; her mother, Peggy Gibbs Bumpass of Monticello; four grandchildren, Lexie, Huntley, Haisley and Adleigh; along with numerous cousins and friends.
