Winzo Darrough was born in Pansey, Arkansas, on January 31, 1930. He was the eldest son of Jimmy and Lucille (Edwards) Darrough. The family moved to Wabbaseka, Arkansas where he received his formal education in the Wabbaseka School District.


Winzo was United in Holy Matrimony with Alice Theresa (Washington) and with union of 63 years, they had one daughter, Alice Faye. He and his family lived in Pine Bluff and were members of Mt Nebo Baptist Church ,where he was a member of the Adult Choir for many years.


Winzo enjoyed (loved) fishing,hunting, and gardening. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather.


On Tuesday, August 6, 2019, he gained his Heavenly wings, in the comfort of his home with his devoted wife by his side.


He leaves to cherish his memory ,his wife, Alice T and daughter Alice Faye(Joseph) of Pine Bluff,AR; four grandchildren, Antione Thompson of Chicago,Il; Sumatra Thompson of Charlotte, NC; Sincerea


Thompson Allen(Corey) of Memphis TN and Adonis Thompson(Rachel) of Denver Co; two brothers, John T Darrough of Seattle, WA; Earl Darrough of Pine Bluff AR; Ruby Leonard and Nancy Hicks of Seattle WA; five great grandchildren, Laquet (Lauren) Pringle of New York NY; Niani Williams and Kori Allen both of Memphis TN; Tae Allen of Austin TX and Jolie Arnold of Denver CO and a host of nieces and nephews.


His funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the P.K.Miller Mortuary Chapel.


Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery by The P.K. Miller Mortuary. His body will lie in repose Saturday from 9:45 a.m. until service time.


Visitation will be Friday,5:00-7:00 pm. at P.K. Miller Mortuary. The Family will be at #14 Stratford Lane, Pine Bluff, AR 71603.

Mr. Patrick Edward Adams, 34, of Pine Bluff, passed away on August 8, 2019.


Funeral Service will be 11:00 am on Friday, August 16, 2019, at Paradise Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Calvin Giles officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens by Paradise Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

Ethel Claghorn


Ethel Lorene Claghorn, 87, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away Monday, August 12, 2019, at Arkansas Hospice Care Facility in Little Rock, Arkansas.


Mrs. Claghorn was born June 3, 1932, in Lonoke County, to Alvie and Susie Reynolds Rogers. She was reared and received her education in Mabelvale, Arkansas, where she graduated from Mabelvale High School. At the age of 50, she attended Pines Vocational School (now Southeast Arkansas Community College, where she received her degree in practical nursing. She then attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and the University of Arkansas at Monticello and was only six credit hours from graduating with her Bachelor of Nursing Degree.


Mrs. Claghorn retired from Jefferson Regional Medical Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse, where she worked in Labor and Delivery for many years.


She and her family also started Irish Maid Donuts in 1963.


She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and CONTACT, which was a suicide prevention hotline.


Mrs. Claghorn enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and traveling the United States and Europe.


She was preceded in death by her parents, father of her children, James Claghorn, daughters, Sharon Elaine Claghorn and Shanon Lorene Harmond-Hand, and her sister, Irene Rogers Craig.


Mrs. Claghorn is survived by her daughter, Connie (Tim) Boutwell of White Hall; five grandchildren; nine grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth (Wilma) Rogers of Orlando, Florida; and three sisters, Lee Rogers Stokes of South Port, Florida, Viola Rogers Simons of Little Rock and Mildred Rogers Breeding of Little Rock; and two sons-in-law, John Elkins, Sr. and Robert Harmon, both of White Hall.


A vigil will be held Friday, August 16, 2019, 5:30 PM, at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home with Deacon Noel F. “Bud” Bryant officiating.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 17, 2019, 10:00 AM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Reverend Joseph Marconi officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Jefferson County, Arkansas.


In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be sent to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 412 West 6th Avenue, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71601.
