Freddie Mae Pryor
Freddie Mae Johnson Pryor, 70, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died Friday, November 15, 2019. Freddie was the daughter of the late Fred Johnson and Beatrice “Sally” Johnson.
She graduated from Southeast High School in 1967. She matriculated from Arkansas AM&N (now UAPB) with a bachelor’s degree in English and received her master’s degree in Education from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and for many years afterwards. She was a well-known and well-loved educator for 33 years and retired from the Pine Bluff School District.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Aaron Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Pryor; daughter, Brittney Pryor Craig (Brandon); step-son, Marcus Pryor (Jeannette); step-daughter, Kimberly Pryor; two brothers—Fred Lee Johnson Jr. (Deborah) and Dwayne Johnson (Brenda); five sisters— Josephine Terry (Odell), Zetherine Johnson Lias (David), Linda Johnson, Pamela Woods, and Dwana Johnson; a special sister Jennice Blankenship; six grandchildren; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, November 22, 2019, from 7:00 - 8:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home. Her funeral will be held at Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1305 W. 16th Ave, in Pine Bluff, on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. Interment in Cypress Memorial Gardens by Brown Funeral Home. Mrs. Willie Jean Patrick, 76, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, formerly of Grady, Ar., passed away November 12, 2019. She was born October 3, 1943, to the late Annie Mae Holly and Leroy Windom at Grady, Arkansas.
